Just last night, I saw Catching Fire. (Don't worry, I won't spoil the plot!) I must say, I was not disappointed. Unlike the first movie, this one was much better directed and the special effects and sets greatly exceeded that of the last film. I also enjoyed the cast, acting, stunts, and locations. The cinematography, however was a tad better than the last movie but not by much. There was a slightly lower concentration of close-ups and 'shaky-camera,' but still enough to make you dizzy. In just the first scene I counted eight close-up shots. And during some of the action scenes, the camera shook so badly, you could barely tell what was going on. Also some of those boring-yet-important moments found in the book, that really make you feel like you're there, were cut from the movie. I also felt that in this film, the characters spent too little time in the actual Games, busy building exposition during the first hour of the movie. But in contrast to that, the first Hunger Games spent too much time in the actual Games.
Overall, I enjoyed Catching Fire. It followed the book's plot cleanly and precisely. (Which is rare when movies are based on books.) The performance the cast gave was spot on and I would definitely watch it again.
